Bluetooth pairing fails with the BRAVIA Theatre Quad, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, or BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8
If the Bluetooth® pairing fails, check the following:
Connection troubleshooting
Check Low Energy (LE) mode
- Ensure the audio and source devices are not connected via Low Energy (LE) mode. LE mode may cause the Bluetooth connection to fail or prevent sound from being heard.
- Verify that LE_ is not displayed on the connected devices in the Bluetooth settings. If it is, unpair and reconnect the devices without LE_.
Adjust device proximity
Bring the audio and Bluetooth devices closer together and attempt pairing again.
Check Bluetooth connection limits
The number of connected devices may exceed the Bluetooth connection limit of the audio device. To resolve this, delete one or more paired devices in the Bluetooth settings.
Note: Android™ OS devices don't have Bluetooth connection limits.
Avoid electromagnetic interference
Move the audio system away from devices that generate electromagnetic waves, such as wireless LAN devices or microwave ovens, and retry pairing.
Troubleshooting mobile devices
Use Airplane mode
Set Airplane mode to ON, wait a few minutes, and then turn it OFF.
Disconnect other Bluetooth connections
- Ensure no other device is currently connected to the mobile device via Bluetooth. If another device is connected
- Disconnect the device by turning off its Bluetooth feature or powering it off.
- Retry pairing.
Troubleshooting audio devices
Enable Wireless function
If the audio device's Wireless function is set to OFF, Bluetooth pairing and connection will not work. Turn the Wireless function to ON and retry the operation.
Android-Specific troubleshooting
If you've paired the audio device with an Android mobile device but encounter issues such as no sound or difficulty finding the device name with LE_ in the Bluetooth settings:
- In the mobile device's Bluetooth settings, delete all pairing information, including the device name with LE_.
- Pair the devices again and connect the mobile device to the audio device without LE_.
