    Important Notes

    • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • The computer requires more than 30 percent battery power in order to install this update. If the computer drops below 30 percent, please plug in the AC adapter for the remainder of the installation.
    • It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the EP0000601172.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the EP0000601172.exe file to begin the installation.
    4. At the "User Account Control" screen, click "Yes".
    5. At the "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software" screen, read the Intel License Agreement, then if you agree, select "I have reviewed and agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA)", and then select "Upgrade" to begin the installation.
    6. At the "A restart is required to complete the install. Do you wish to restart now?" screen, click "Yes" to restart the computer.

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the Intel Wireless LAN Update is complete.

    Update Verification (optional)

    Please follow the steps below to verify that the installation was successful

    1. Browse to C:\windows\system32\drivers\NETwew02.sys (Windows 8 OS).
    2. Verify that the file version is 17.13.1.13.
    3. Browse to C:\windows\system32\drivers\NETwbw02.sys (Windows 8.1 OS).
    4. Verify that the file version is 17.13.1.13.
