How do I pair the voice command remote control to my TV?

    If you experience issues when using a wireless remote control, or when using the Mic button/voice command function on your voice command remote control, follow these steps to unpair and then pair the remote control:

    Notes:

    • If you replace your voice command remote control, the new remote must be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
    • After updating the software of your TV, the remote may need to be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
    • Pairing can fail if the battery level is too low. If this is the case, replace the batteries with new ones before pairing them.

    Google TV™ or Android TV™ models released in 2016 or after

    If you are using this type of remote control, follow the steps in this section.

    1. Unpair the remote control from the TV:
      Note: If you have any of the models listed, skip this step.
      • 2022 models (except for W8K and X74K_X75K series)
      • 2021 models (except W8 and X7 series)
      • 2020 models (except X74H_X75H series)
      • 2019 models: A9F_AF9, Z9F_ZF9, A9G_AG9, Z9G_ZG9, XG95_X95G, XG85_X85G_U8G (55, 65, 75, 85) series with TV software updated to version 6.4960 or later
      1. On the supplied remote control, press the (Quick Settings) or HOME button (depending on the model).
      2. Select Settings.
      3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Remotes & Accessories → Bluetooth Settings → SONY TV RC MIC 001 or SONY TV VRC 001 → Unpair → OK.
        • Select Bluetooth settings → SONY TV RC MIC 001 or SONY TV VRC 001 → Unpair → OK.
    2. Pair the remote control with the TV.
      1. On the supplied remote control, press the (Quick Settings) or HOME button (depending on the model).
      2. Select Settings.
      3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Remotes & Accessories → Remote control → Connect via Bluetooth, then press and hold both the Vol – (down) and Mic buttons for 3 seconds and then you'll see Connecting..., when the message The new remote has been connected appears, select OK.
        • Select Remotes & Accessories → Remote control → Connect via Bluetooth or Activate button, then follow the on-screen instructions.
        • Select Remote control → Connect via Bluetooth, then follow the on-screen instructions.
        • Select Voice Remote Control → Activate button, then follow the on-screen instructions.

    Android TVs released in 2015

    If you are using a touchpad remote control similar to the one presented in the illustration, follow these steps

    1. Unpair the Voice command remote control (Touchpad Remote Control) from the TV.

      Note: If the remote control is a replacement and never paired to your TV, skip this step.

      1. On the supplied IR remote control, press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings → Network & Accessories → Bluetooth settings.
      3. Select Device list → SONY TV REMOTE 001 or SONY TV RC MIC 001 → Unpair → OK.
    2. Pair the remote control with the TV.
      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings → Network & Accessories → Touchpad Remote Control or Voice Remote Control.
      3. Select Pair Touchpad Remote Control or Activate the MIC button.
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
