Could a downloaded app cause an issue on my Android TV?

    Yes, a downloaded app could cause some unexpected issues while using your Android TV™. It's possible to experience various video and audio issues when using an app, or the app may not start or stop, or won't exit or connect. An app may also cause the TV to reboot. To determine if the app is causing the issue, enter Safe mode to temporarily disable third-party apps, then check if the issue still occurs.

    If you confirm that the downloaded app causes the issue, try the following:

    1. Update the app to the latest version.
    2. Perform Clear data
      1. Open the Settings screen according to your TV remote options:
        • Press the gear icon (Quick settings) button, then select gear iconSettings.
        • Press the HOME button, then select gear iconSettings.
      2. Under the TV category, select Apps.
      3. Select Running app or System app, then choose the app with problems.
      4. Select Clear data.
      5. Select OK.
