Tactile dots on a TV remote control

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

The TV remote control has tactile dots on the PLAY, PLAY/PAUSE, AUDIO, numerical 5, and Channel Up buttons (except when the remote control doesn't have these corresponding buttons) to help you locate the target button quickly without looking.

For example, the Channel and Volume buttons are the same shape, but you can distinguish between the two because the Channel Up button has a tactile dot.

The Volume Channel buttons have the same shape, but only the + (Plus) mark on the Channel button has a tactile dot, allowing you to distinguish between them.

Only the numerical 5 button has a tactile dot to help you locate the rest of the numerical buttons.
