How to prevent sudden volume changes on your TV when switching TV channels, apps, or external inputs

IMPORTANT: This article only applies to specific products. Please check the Applicable Products section of this article.

If you're troubled by sudden volume changes and constant manual adjustments while watching TV, the Advanced auto volume or Volume offset features will ensure a comfortable and seamless TV viewing experience.

    Recommended if:

    • You are bothered by sudden changes in volume, such as unexpectedly loud sounds.
    • You often adjust the volume with the remote control when switching channels, apps, or each external input.

Note: Not all TVs listed under Applicable Products have the Advanced auto volume or Volume offset feature. To see if your TV has these features, check the specifications. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

    Table of Contents

    • Advanced auto volume
      Adjusts all volume levels automatically.
    • Volume offset
Adjusts the volume individually for TV broadcasts and connected external devices. (Not supported with the A95L series and models from 2024 onward.)

What is the Advanced auto volume feature?

Advanced auto volume improves significant volume level differences automatically in the following cases:

    • Commercials and actual broadcast
    • Each broadcasting station
    • Broadcast (Digital/Analog) *Available countries/regions only
    • Each external input

This setting automatically adjusts the volume to a fixed level that matches the volume changes of the broadcast and input signal. It's an effective setting when, for instance, the volume of commercials feels louder than the volume of the program.
