How do I set the date and time on my Android TV or Google TV?

IMPORTANT: This article applies to Android TV™ and Google TV™ models. If your TV isn't an Android TV (2016 models or later) or Google TV, refer to the How to adjust the date and time (other than Android TV) article.

The date and time are usually set automatically because BRAVIA™ TVs retrieve the date and time information from the broadcast signals or the network. However, if no broadcast signals or network connections are available, you may need to set the date and time manually.

1. Check the Automatic date & time setting

With the TV receiving a broadcast signal or connecting to the network, follow these steps to check the setting:

1. Open the Settings screen.
   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings button:
     1. On the remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button.
     2. Select Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings button:
     1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
     2. Select Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select System → Date & time → Automatic date & time.
   • Select Device Preferences → Date & time → Automatic date & time.
   • Select Date & time → Automatic date & time.
3. Set Automatic date & time to ON, Use broadcast time or Use network time (Use network-provided time).
   Notes:
   • The available options can vary depending on the TV.
   • The KD W830K and KD X75K series retrieve the Date and Time from the network only.
   • If your TV has the Time synchronization setting in Date & time, set it to Use broadcast provided time or Use network-provided time.

2. Check the Time Zone setting

If the time is not displayed correctly, there is a possibility that the Time Zone setting is not correct. Follow these steps to check the setting:

1. Open the Settings screen.
   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings button:
     1. On the remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button.
     2. Select Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings button:
     1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
     2. Select Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select System → Date & time → Set time zone.
   • Select Device Preferences → Date & time → Time → Set time zone.
     Note: If Time is not shown, select Set time zone.
   • Select Date & time → Set time zone.
   • Select Date & time → Time → Automatic time zone → Off, then select Set time zone.
3. Select your location.

Note: If you use a special network environment such as a VPN, the time on the TV may differ from the time of the location (area) where the TV is located.

   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings button:
     1. On the remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button.
     2. Select Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings button:
     1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
     2. Select Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select System → Date & time → Automatic date & time → Off.
   • Select Device Preferences → Date & time → Automatic date & time → Off.
   • Select Date & time → Automatic date & time → Off
3. Select Set date and Set time, or Date and Time.
