Reset your Android TV to factory settings
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
WARNING! A Factory data reset deletes all customized settings, including channels, account information (such as a Google™ account), System and applications data, Downloaded apps, Wired and Wi-Fi® network, and Parental Lock settings.
Before you start
- Try to perform power reset first. Most issues on your TV may be resolved when you perform this step.
- You can sync your apps with your Google account to recover some of the application's data after your perform factory reset. Follow the steps below depending on your TV menu.
- Press HOME → Settings → Device Preferences or Accounts and Sign in → Google → Choose synced apps → select items to sync → Sync now
- Press HOME → Settings → Google → Choose synced apps in Sync → select items to sync → Sync now
- Press HOME → Settings → Personal → Google → Choose synced apps in Sync → select items to sync → Sync now
Reset your TV
The procedure varies depending on the status of your TV:

If the Home screen can be displayed
- Turn the TV on.
- On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
- Select
Settings.
- Follow the steps according to your TV menu:
- Select Device Preferences → Reset.
- Select Device Preferences → About → Reset.
- Select Storage & Reset.
- Select Factory data reset.
- Select Erase Everything.
- If you're asked to provide a password, enter the password for the Parental lock (Broadcast).
- Select Yes.

If the Home screen cannot be displayed (the HOME button on the remote control does not work)
For X74xxH_X75xxH Series: If there is a response when you press the ACTION button on the remote control, follow the procedure below.
- Press the ACTION button on the remote control.
- Select Settings.
- Select Device Preferences.
- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Reset
- Select About → Reset
For other models
- On the supplied remote, press the HELP button.
- Under How to use your TV select Help Guide
- Select Settings.
- Select Configuring the TV.
- Select TV.
- Select
Settings.
- Follow the steps according to your TV menu options:
- Select Device Preferences → Reset.
- Select Storage & Reset.
- Select Factory data reset.
- Select Erase Everything.
- If you're asked to provide a password, enter the password for the Parental lock (Broadcast).
- Select Yes.
- The factory reset may take a few moments. Wait until the process completes.
- You need to enter a PIN code (if one was set on your TV) when you select the Erase everything option.
- After the factory reset process completes successfully, your TV proceeds to the initial setup wizard. You will need to agree to the Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
- You need to activate the touchpad pairing sequence again after a factory reset.
