How do I pair the voice command remote control to my TV?

    If you experience issues when using a wireless remote control, or when using the mic button / voice command function on your voice command remote control, follow these steps to unpair and then pair the remote control:

    Notes:

    • If you replace your voice command remote control, the new remote must be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
    • After updating the software of your TV, the remote may need to be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
    • Pairing can fail if the battery level is too low. If this is the case, replace the batteries with new ones before pairing.

    Android TV™ models released in 2016 or after

    If you are using this type of remote control, follow the steps in this section.

    1. Unpair the remote control from the TV:
      1. Press the HOME button on the remote.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Remotes & Accessories → Bluetooth Settings → SONY TV RC MIC 001 or SONY TV VRC 001 → Unpair → OK.
        • Select Bluetooth settings → SONY TV RC MIC 001 or SONY TV VRC 001 → Unpair → OK.
    2. Pair the remote control to the TV.
      1. Press the HOME button on the remote.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Remotes & Accessories → Remote control → Connect via Bluetooth or Activate button.
        • Select Remote control → Connect via Bluetooth.
        • Select Voice Remote Control → Activate button.
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    Android TVs released in 2015

    If you are using a touchpad remote control similar to the one shown below, follow these steps.

    1. Unpair the remote control from the TV.

      Note: If the remote control is a replacement and never paired to your TV, skip this step.

      1. On the supplied IR remote control, press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings → Network & Accessories → Bluetooth settings.
      3. Select Device list → SONY TV REMOTE 001 or SONY TV RC MIC 001 → Unpair → OK.
    2. Pair the remote control to the TV.
      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings → Network & Accessories → Touchpad Remote Control or Voice Remote Control.
      3. Select Pair Touchpad Remote Control or Activate the MIC button.
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
