The FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 combines full-frame image quality and world-leading compactness and lightness (167g, 5.9oz) through excellent mechanical and optical design, including its retracting structure and three aspherical lens elements. For everyday snaps, travel and vlogging, it’s the ideal lens for compact E-mount full-frame cameras – delivering ease, portability, and high image quality.
To deliver the optical performance and corner-to-corner resolution necessary for full-frame imaging, the FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 features three aspherical lens elements. The precise shape of these elements suppresses various image distortions and aberrations.
Capture a wide variety of everyday subjects with the flexible focusing range. With a minimum focusing distance of just 0.3m (telephoto 0.45m), you can achieve good close-up shots of food and flowers. The compact design makes it the ideal tool for everything from table photos to vlogs with full-frame quality.
A Sony linear motor provides fast and precise focusing, and quiet operation in both movie and still-image capture. Combined with the latest α full-frame cameras, you can confidently lock onto even fast-moving subjects using AF functions like Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF.
For confidence, dependability and ease of use in a range of shooting environments, the compact and lightweight design features sealing for dust and moisture resistance.
Impressive optical performance for Sony cameras, precision engineered for versatility and reliability in a wide range of applications.
 Aspherical lens
MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) describes how well a lens can reproduce fine details, measured as the degree of contrast achieved between finely spaced lines.
Contrast (%) Distance from optical center of lens (mm) At 28 mm / Max. aperture At 28 mm / F8 aperture At 60 mm / Max. aperture At 60 mm / F8 aperture Spatial frequency 10 line pairs / mm 30 line pairs / mm Radial values Tangential values
