• Finding the model number and name using the Support app

Support app version 4.0.18 or higher

To find the model number and name of your Xperia device

  1. Find and tap Support .
  2. Make sure you are on the Main tab .
  3. Scroll down to Device info. The name and model number appear under Model.

Support app version lower than 4.0.18

To find the model number and name of your Xperia device

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap Support .
  3. Tap the Device info tab . The name and model number appear.

If your Xperia device doesn't have the Support app, you can try to use the Diagnostics app.

  • To find the model number and name using the Diagnostics app

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap Settings.
  3. Tap About phone/tablet > Diagnostics. The name and model number appear.

  • Finding the model number and name when the device is off

You can find your Xperia model number when the device is off by using its IMEI number.

To find the name of your Xperia device when the device is off

  1. Most newer Xperia devices have the IMEI number inside the SIM card slot on a label tray. Depending on device model, you may have to remove the SIM card holder to access the label tray. Some models have the IMEI number inside the memory card slot. Use your finger nail or an unfolded paper clip (or similar) to drag the label tray outwards. Other models, with a removable cover, have the IMEI number on the device under the back cover.
  2. When you've found the IMEI number, go to the Update your Xperia page, and enter the IMEI number in the Enter IMEI number search field.
  3. Click Show information. The name of the device appears.
  4. If you can't find the IMEI number, you can look for the name of the product on the box that the device came in or on the receipt or invoice that you received from the original vendor. The name of the device is also printed on the cover of the Startup guide that came with the device.
