Researcher on Digital Health Application Technology of Audio/Visual Sensing

Position Summary We develop non-contact vital sensing and analytics technology aiming for next generation of digital health. We’ll realize high-precision and non-contact sensing and analytics using Sony’s technological strength of device, machine learning, optics, and miniaturization. Specifically, we are now developing our original vital sensor and its applied technology, and are engaged in the research and development of applied healthcare technologies that are useful for telemedicine and preventive medicine where the market is rapidly increasing for coming with/after COVID -19 situation.
Responsibilities Research and development of vital sensing and analytics technology that utilizes Sony's audio/visual sensing technology for healthcare monitoring to support a healthy and secure society that is close to people via remote/real-time, and system technology for detecting signs of heart disease, mental illness, and lifestyle-related diseases.
・R&D of system technology for detecting signs of mental diseases, dementia and lifestyle-related diseases using audio signal processing, sound source separation technology using DNN, etc., and sound signal feature extraction technology.
・R&D of system technology for prediction of heart disease, psychiatric disease, dementia, and lifestyle-related disease prediction using visual signal processing, DNN, etc.
Required qualifications ・Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
・Have expertise in sensing technology in the audio or visual domain. It is good to have experience of about 2 or 3 years.
・Those who are interested in developing digital health technology using human sensing.
・High proficiency in English.
・Willing to communicate and understand Japanese team members.
Preferred qualifications In order to conduct joint R&D with engineers, doctors, and startup companies both inside and outside the company, including overseas, it is desirable to have a person who likes R & D through Open Innovation rather than doing R & D alone.
