Computational Photography, Next Generation Image Sensing Technology Researcher

Position Summary Sony's image processing engineers develop next generation image sensors and novel algorithm to fully utilize sensor functionality and sensor characteristics which provide users to have ultra high quality image or new experience through the sensing and vision technology.
Our purpose is to fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology. And we think one of the most important technology is imaging and sensing to touch human emotion.
Our research team comprises of various members from various countries works to propose next Sony proprietary sensing device combined with cutting edge signal processing including deep neural network. You will join as a member of the team and be involved in our new explorative research work to propose new value to the world.
Responsibilities Develop new image processing algorithm based on computational photography technology or other research level technology to enhance functionality or image/video quality of Sony products such as digital still camera, camcorder, TV, PC, and gaming devices.
- Investigation of possible technical options to achieve functionality enhancement or image/video quality enhancement.
- Conducting research and image/video processing algorithm development to achieve above purpose communicating with engineers closely.
- Providing algorithm description document, reference code in the specified programming language, and regular research reports.
Required qualifications ●Engineering Skills:
- Required to have research experience in image processing, computer vision, or other image/video related technology area.
●Programming Skills:
- Ability to program in C language.
English: Business conversation level or higher level is required.
Preferred qualifications ●Programming Skills:
- Preferred experience in C++ and MATLAB programming language.
Japanese: Preferred to have basic conversation skill.
Product, Service Consumer/professional digital imaging products such as digital still camera, camcorder, digital single lens reflex camera, surveillance camera,
camera module in PC and mobile phone and gaming platform. Image sensors to be provided to many companies including apple, Samsung, google etc.
Development Environment OS: Windows and Linux.
Programming Language: Python, C/C++, MATLAB.
