Sony has conducted its social contribution project Dream Goal. The project, which harnesses the power of football, the most popular sport in the world, started from 2009.
In Dream Goal, the combined power of Sony products, technologies and employees is providing opportunities in which everyone all over the world can participate. To support children and communities who are facing various social issues in every corner of the world.
This program was one of the activities of FIFA's CSR program "Football for Hope", from 2009 to 2014.
NGOs in Latin America, Africa and Asian area facing social issues such as poverty, conflicts and infectious diseases, held a workshop to train young people in media skills, such as operating cameras photography, and editing. Sony provided media equipment such as digital cameras.
While providing a chance for participants to send out their own information, this program also provided support which leads to employment opportunities.
Sony has teamed up with a local NGO to invite 15,000 South African children to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches. By taking part in an HIV / AIDS awareness programs, the children get to experience the tournament at the stadium.
Sony carries on other CSR activities throughout football besides Dream Goal. Please see more details below.
