Sony promotes diversity across the Sony Group by ensuring a healthy work environment and recruiting, training, and promoting employees from diverse backgrounds.
This Action Plan of Sony Group Corporation has adopted the following initiatives continuously with a focus on promoting the participation of female employees.

Implementation period

Five years from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2026

Numerical Targets

  1. Increase the ratio of women in managerial posts to over 20% by the end of FY2025
  2. The combined utilization rate of childcare and parental leave for both men and women should reach 100% by the end of FY2025, and the average for males should be at least 10 days

Policy initiative 1: Create better workplace environments that enable everyone to work more happily and efficiently, raise their job satisfaction, and support the equitable participation of all the employees

Implementation period: FY2021 - FY2025

  • Set an average target of 16 or more days of annual paid leave days taken, and adopt measures to ensure this
  • Hold annual events that focus on raising awareness of diversity and inclusion, and build a culture that makes a better workplace
  • Encourage male employees to take childcare and parental leave
  • Improve the environment and raise awareness of easily available support schemes for ensuring a balance between work and childcare, nursing care, and medical treatment

Policy initiative 2:Focus on training efforts to promote even greater participation by female employees

Implementation period: FY2021 - FY2025

  • Conduct training programs for female employees and diversity management seminars for managers
  • Continue to hold career roundtables and networking events for young employees

Policy initiative 3: Focus on recruiting activities aimed at increasing the ratio of female employees within the company

Implementation period: FY2021 - FY2025

  • Recruiting activities aimed at increasing the number of female job applicants
  • Continue career events for female STEM students (STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
