Eligibility: Sweepstakes is offered only to natural persons aged 18 and older. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor or Administrator, their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, third-party partners, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. Winners will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/release in order to collect the prizes. Failure to complete the affidavit will result in disqualification and the selection of a new winner. Void where prohibited. All federal, provincial, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
How to Enter: No purchase necessary. Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. The Sweepstakes begins Monday, December 17, 2007 at approximately 3:01PM EST, and ends approximately Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11:59PM EST. All online entries must be received no later than Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:59PM EST. You must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry to be eligible for this Sweepstakes. You may enter the Sweepstakes by following the link posted on the interstitial invite, completing the survey online and entering and confirming your email address at the completion of the survey. If you do not wish to complete the survey you may be entered by printing your name, address, including zip or postal code, telephone number, complete e-mail address, AND THE URL ADDRESS OF THE SURVEY which you were invited to complete on a 3x5 card and mailing it to: Sony CES Survey Sweepstakes Mail-in Entries, c/o Praxis Research Partners, PO Box 586, Monroe, CT, 06468. All U.S. mail-in entries must be postmarked by Wednesday, January 23, 2008 and received no later than 11:59 PM EST, Friday, January 25, 2008. Limit of one entry per person regardless of method of entry.
The URL address of the survey is necessary to identify the sweepstakes entered by you. Mail-in entries that do not include the URL address will not be valid. Online entries must be received by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, January 18, 2008.
The Sponsor, Administrator and any Internet access providers, their respective parents, affiliates, divisions, and agencies, and each of the foregoing entities' respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (the "Released Parties") are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of entry information, human error, technical malfunction, lost/delayed data transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, inability to access web sites, damage to a user's computer system (hardware and/or software) due to participation in this Sweepstakes or any other problem or error that may occur, or for late, lost, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, mechanically reproduced, illegible entries or postage due entries and/or mail. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules.
Judging: One (1) winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries on or about Monday, January 28, 2008 by the Administrator, whose decisions on all matters pertaining to the Sweepstakes are final. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by email. Prize winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility (which affirms that they have complied with these rules) as well as a liability release, and where legal, a publicity release which if issued, must be completed, signed and returned within 14 days from date of issuance or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use winners' names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. If, in the Sponsor's or Administrator's opinion, there is any suspicion or evidence of tampering or technological corruption of the Internet portion of the Sweepstakes, or if the security, integrity or proper play of the Sweepstakes is compromised in any way, the Administrator reserves the right to void any suspect entries and/or modify, suspend, and/or terminate the sweepstakes and award the prizes using all non-suspect eligible entries received as of such termination date. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SONY.COM SITE OR THE PRAXIS SITE IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR AND/OR ADMINISTRATOR RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry.
"Authorized account holder" is defined as the person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Prizes: One (1) winner will be selected to win one (1) Sony Blu-ray Disc Player and five (5) Sony Blu-ray movies, with a total approximate retail value of no less than $500. All taxes and any other expenses not specified are the sole responsibility of the winner. No prize substitution or transfer of prize permitted except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability, in which case prize substitution will be of equal or greater value. Any unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. After being contacted via email, prize winners will have 30 days to claim their prizes via email or telephone to Praxis Research Partners. After the 30 days from time of contact, the prizewinner forfeits any right to claiming the prize. In the case of an unclaimed prize, no subsequent winner will be selected. The winners should allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks after notification to receive their prizes. By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or entry into this Sweepstakes or use of any prize won. All prizes being offered are being provided "as is." Neither Sponsor nor Administrator will replace any lost or stolen prize items.
General Conditions: Sweepstakes entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the independent judging organization, which are final on all matters pertaining to the Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to the conflicts of law provisions therein. Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by laws, including but not limited to jurisdictions with laws that would require registration, disclosure, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements that are not satisfied by these terms and conditions. All taxes, fees, and surcharges on prize packages are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Prize winners will be notified by e-mail within seven (7) days after drawing date.
Privacy: By entering into the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that Sponsor may use the personal information provided by them in connection with the Sweepstakes. Sponsor will not use entrant's personal information for any other purpose.
Winner List: The name of the prize winners may be obtained after January 28, 2008 by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Praxis Sony CES Sweepstakes Winners List Request, c/o Praxis Research Partners, PO Box 586, Monroe, CT, 06468.
