IMPORTANT: Because this and various other issues can arise when using a non-Sony AC adapter, only the use of an authentic Sony® AC adapter is supported.
To resolve this issue, download and install the BIOS Update available at the Sony PC Support Web site.
If after applying the BIOS update the battery still does not charge, perform the following troubleshooting steps.
- Turn off the computer.
- Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
- Leave the battery out and the AC adapter disconnected for at least 30 seconds, then reinsert the battery into the computer and plug the AC adapter back in to a known working power outlet.
- Turn on the computer.
- If the battery still does not charge, plug the AC adapter into a different known working power outlet.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.
