How to check the file system (FAT, FAT32...etc) of the hard drive.

You can view this information from the properties of your disc or media (must be connected or inserted into the computer). Do the following to view this information:

1. Click the start button and then (depending on your operating system) click Computer or My Computer.
2. In the Computer window, right click the drive you wish to check and then click Properties from the menu.
3. In the Disk Properties window, the information is listed next to File system.
