The Android TV Is Stuck in a Reboot Loop After a Firmware Update

The Android TV™ is stuck in a reboot loop, or powers on and off continuously after it attempted to install the firmware update PKG.3.709 or higher (Android™ 6.0 Marshmallow).

Before You Start

  • WARNING! The reset will remove all of your TV settings including apps, channels, and wireless network.

  • You may need help from a second person to perform the reset.

Solution

You can watch this VIDEO tutorial on how to perform a reset on an Android TV or follow the steps below to perform a forced factory reset. The number of buttons on the back of your TV determines which reset steps you need to follow.
