Unable to Access the Home Menu After Performing a Software Update on the Android TV

If you can't use the Home button on your remote control or access the Home menu after you update your Android TV™, perform a Clear Data to resolve the issue:

To resolve this issue, perform a clear data.

  1. On your remote control, press the HELP button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Configuring the TV.
  4. Select [TV].
  5. Select Jump to the Setting Screen.
  6. Select Apps.
  7. Select System software update app.
  8. Select Clear Data.

If the Home menu doesn't return after clearing the data, perform a factory reset.

  1. On your remote control, press the HELP button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Configuring the TV.
  4. Select [TV].
  5. Select Jump to the Setting Screen.
  6. Select Storage & reset.
  7. Select Factory data reset.
  8. Select Erase everything.
  9. Select Yes.
