What you can do when making a group via network connection:
Wireless Multi-room, Wireless Surround, Wireless Stereo.
When you make a group of the compatible devices, you can use the Wireless Multi-room, Wireless Surround, and Wireless Stereo functions.
Hint
- For group playback, select a group from the "Speaker & Group" screen.
- If you want to use each device as a single device after
creating a group, select a device from the "Speaker & Group" screen. If you cannot select, ungroup it.
See To ungroup for details.
Wireless Multi-room
When you combine multiple speakers using Wireless Multi-room, you can enjoy the same sound in any room in the house.
Note
You cannot cast from the Chromecast compatible app to the group (Wireless Multi-room) created by Music Center. Create a new group using the "Google Home" app.
To configure Wireless Multi-room, select the device from "Speaker & Group," and tap [Group with other speakers] in the displayed screen.
Hint
If you use the external input (USB, Audio In, HDMI, etc.), first choose the device to which these are connected.
Select [Wireless Multi-room], then select devices that you want to add to a group by following the instruction on the screen.
Wireless Surround
When you add rear speakers to the soundbar or multichannel AV receiver using Wireless Surround, you can enjoy the realistic surround sound.
Note
- When using the device with Wi-Fi network connection, the Internet service and home network functions are not available and Music Center will be disconnected if you continue to create a Wireless Surround group. A wired LAN connection is recommended for the soundbar or multichannel AV receiver.
- When using Wireless Surround, automatic software update is disabled. Delete the Wireless Surround group and manually update each device.
- Sound field works as a true surround sound.
To configure Wireless Surround, select the soundbar or multichannel AV receiver that supports Wireless Surround from "Speaker & Group," and tap [Group with other speakers] on the displayed screen.
Select [Wireless Surround] and choose the surround speaker that you want to use on the left side from the devices displayed on the list by following the instruction on the display. Then, choose the other surround speaker that you want to use on the right side.
Wireless Stereo
When you connect two wireless speakers of the same model using Wireless Stereo, you can enjoy wider stereo sound.
Note
When using Wireless Stereo, the automatic software update is disabled. Delete the Wireless Stereo group and manually update the software.
To configure Wireless Stereo, select the device (wireless speaker) from "Speaker & Group," and tap [Group with other speakers] on the displayed screen.
Select [Wireless Stereo] and choose which side of the left or right you set the selected device on by following the instruction on the display. Then, set the second selected device on the other side by following the same procedure.
To use the external input (USB, Audio In, HDMI, etc.), select which device you want to use with.
To ungroup
When using Wireless Multi-room or Wireless Stereo, select the group that you want to delete on the "Speaker & Group" screen, tap [Edit Group] to ungroup.
When using Wireless Surround with all the devices connected via wireless LAN, you cannot ungroup them by using Music Center. Operate each of the devices to ungroup.
