How to turn off the Automatic Brightness Settings for the ambient light sensor.

    When ambient light is detected, the Automatic Brightness Settings feature will automatically adjust the LCD brightness level. If desired, the feature can be turned off to keep the brightness at a constant level regardless of the ambient light. Follow this procedure to turn off the Automatic Brightness Settings feature.

    1. Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click VAIO Control Center.
    2. In the VAIO Control Center window, on the left side of the screen, click Display.
    3. Under Display, click Automatic Brightness Settings.
    4. On the right side of the screen, click to remove the check in the box next to Adjust brightness automatically. Image

      NOTE: To re-enable the Automatic Brightness Settings feature, click to place the check back into the box next to Adjust brightness automatically.

    5. Click the OK button.
