aibo Playful Sounds FAQ
This article answers common questions about Playful Sounds, a feature that adds fun sounds to aibo’s movements and dance tricks.
You’ll learn when sounds are added, how toys affect sound behavior, and what to check if sounds do not play as expected.
- When are sounds added to aibo’s movements?
- Sounds are added in the following situations:
- When aibo recognizes a toy (such as pink ball, aibone, or dice) during a dance trick
- When aibo moves its body
- Can I prevent sounds from being added during a dance trick?
- If you do not show a toy to aibo while it is performing a trick, the trick will play without any additional sounds.
- How should I show a toy to aibo?
- Hold the toy about 50 cm (20 inches) in front of the camera on aibo's nose. If the room is too dark or too bright, aibo may not be able to recognize the toy.
- Why are sounds added even though I did not show a toy?
- Sounds are added when a toy enters aibo’s view, so aibo may also react to toys placed on the floor or nearby. In addition, aibo may sometimes recognize objects that look similar to its toys.
- What can I do if I'm having trouble showing a toy to aibo while it's dancing?
- Try showing the toy immediately after giving the trick command. This allows you to present the toy before aibo starts dancing. Enjoy adjusting the timing to find what works best.
- Why do sounds continue to be added after the dance ends?
- Even after the dance ends, you can add sounds to aibo’s movements by showing a toy within a short time.
- Why are sounds not added even when I show a toy?
- This may happen for one of the following reasons:
- The trick does not support added sounds.
- Sounds cannot be added to some dances, such as dances after eating or while playing medley content.
- aibo cannot properly recognize the toy.
- aibo’s system software is not up to date.
- To add sounds, aibo’s system software must be version 8.00 or later.
- The trick does not support added sounds.
