Note on Sony account: Before downloading the software, we recommend that you create a Sony account. After creating a Sony account or signing in with your Sony account, download the software (for customers in the USA and Canada). You also have the option to download the software without an account.
What to Keep in Mind Before Performing the Update
Updates should be installed in chronological order: Ver. 2.15 or earlier → Ver. 3.01 → Ver. 5.01. If you try to install Ver. 5.01 without updating to Ver. 3.01, an error will occur and you will not be able to update your camera.
Some settings will not be carried over to Ver. 5.01, even if they were previously saved using the Save/Load settings. When updating from Ver. 4.00 or earlier, we recommend writing down the following settings in advance:

Switch Focus Area and Send to Smartphone settings registered to Custom Key
Version, Touch Sensitivity, and Touch Panel settings registered in My Menu
