IR Blaster stopped working after performing an update on my TV
After updating your TV to Android™ S, the Quickset SDK permission to use the IR Blaster may be set to Don't Allow.
The Quickset SDK is an application necessary for operating external devices such as a cable or satellite box with a remote control by utilizing the IR Blaster. Permission for the necessary authorization of Nearby devices is required by the application to function properly.
To use the IR Blaster function, select Allow in your TV menu settings:
- On the remote control, press the

(Quick Settings) button.
- On the TV menu, select Settings → Apps → See all apps → Show system app → Quickset SDK → Permissions → Nearby devices.
- Change the setting to Allow.
- Restart the TV before using the IR Blaster function.
