Voice search (Google Assistant)

    Voice search

    The Voice Search™ function helps you find the content you are looking for by listening to your vocalized (spoken) search words. In order to use the voice search function, an internet connection and sign in to a Google™ account are necessary.

    When you are using an app, search results will be displayed on your TV screen. Below are examples of apps where the voice search function can be used. Below are examples of apps where the voice search function can be used:

    • YouTube™ app
    • TV broadcast

    Note: If the app you are using isn't supported by the voice search function, search results from YouTube content are displayed.

    How to use the voice search function

    1. On your remote control, press the MIC or Google Assistant button.
      Note: The MIC or Google Assistant button is located immediately above the navigation and selection buttons.
    2. Speak what you want to search for, such as a movie title, into the microphone at the top of the TV remote control while holding the MIC or Google Assistant button.
      • If your model supports eARC:
        When eARC mode is activated, the verbal response will not be available. Follow these steps to enable the verbal response feature:
        1. On the remote control, press the Quick button.
        2. Select Settings then press the Enter button.
        3. Press the Down arrow button to select Display & Sound, and press the Enter button.
        4. Press the Down arrow button to select Audio output, and press the Enter button.
        5. Press the Down arrow button to select eARC mode, and press the Enter button.
        6. Press the Down arrow button to select Off, and press the Enter button.

      Google Assistant

      If your TV has Google Assistant™, you can also ask Google Assistant to play your favorite movie or TV show, check the score of your favorite team, control your TV, dim the lights, and more, all using just your voice.
