Lens Cover Doesn't Open or Close Properly

The lens cover won't open if the camera's date and time isn't set. Set the date and time and perform a power cycle on the camera.

Follow the steps below to perform a power cycle on the camera:

  1. Power off the camera.
  2. Remove the batteries and let it sit for a full minute.
  3. Re-insert the batteries.
  4. Power on the camera.

If the issue still occurs after following the steps above, your device may need repair.
