Troubleshoot this issue by doing the following:
- Make sure no foreign matter such as sand, hair, or dirt is inside the area of the battery cover.
- Make sure that the battery is inserted properly and not backwards.
NOTE: The metal contacts on the battery should be aligned with the metal conductors inside the battery compartment.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.
