After installing retail version of the Windows operating system, an unknown device with the signature SNY5001 shows up in Device Manager.
This issue can occur because the computer is looking for the Sony® Firmware Extension Parser software, which helps identify hardware components. To resolve the issue, download and install first the Sony Shared Library and then the Sony Firmware Extension Parser updates, both of which are available on Sony eSupport website. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
