Use the WPS (Push Button) feature to connect to a wireless network

Applicable Products and Categories of This Article

Wi-Fi® Protected Setup (WPS) is a built-in feature of many routers that makes it easier to connect wi-fi enabled devices to a secure wireless network. Some manufacturers may refer to the WPS (Push Button) feature as Wi-Fi Simple Config, Push 'n' Connect, PBC, or Quick Secure Setup (QSS).

IMPORTANT: Your router or modem and the device you want to connect to the network must support WPS in order to use it.

Determine if your router and device supports the WPS feature

  1. Look on your modem or router for a WPS button:

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure that the router's WPS feature is enabled.
  • Move the router closer to the device.

If you are still unable to connect, contact the router manufacturer or your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for further assistance.
