Can't Connect aibo to the Wi-Fi Network

Connect your aibo™ robotic companion to the Wi-Fi® network after completing each step to check if the issue is resolved. If specific information is required to complete any step, check your router manual or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for more informatin, or check aibo's manual. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

    1. Check if your Wi-Fi router or access point is turned on.
    2. Check if the firmware for your router or access point is updated to the latest version.
    3. Check if the Wi-Fi signal is weak. Make sure to place aibo near your router or access point.
    4. Move your router away from places or devices can interfere with the network connection. These devices may cause inability to connect to the network.

    5. Check if the settings for your router or access point are correct.
    6. Make sure that the stealth mode of your router is off. Stealth mode prevents the Wi-Fi name (SSID) to display.
    7. Make sure that your router is compatible with the 2.4 GHz band (11b, 11g, 11n), because aibo doesn't support 5 GHz band (IEEE 802.11a, 11ac).
    8. Check if your router is set to support WPA2-PSK. aibo doesn't support WEP.
    9. Make sure to enter the Wi-Fi password correctly in the My aibo app, because Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive.
    10. Check if aibo can connect to a mobile LTE network through the My aibo app (for software version 1.3.0 or later)

    11. Check the number of devices that you can connect to your network. You may not be able to connect if you exceed the maximum connections.
    12. Change the packet filter settings to allow aibo to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
      • Packet filters are functions that allow only some transmissions and block all other transmissions.
    13. Perform power reset on your router and aibo.
