aibo doesn’t move from the charging station even though the LED indicator is green

When placing aibo on the charging station while powered off, it sometimes fails to wake up on its own after charging has completed. This behavior is determined by the setting in the My aibo app under Settings → Auto-start after charging:

When “Auto-start after charging” is OFF

• aibo will not wake up and leave the charging station on its own after charging.
• To turn on aibo, slowly press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.

When “Auto-start after charging” is ON

• aibo will wake up and leave the charging station on its own after charging.

Hints:

• If aibo is charging in sleep mode by briefly pressing the power button once, aibo will not leave the charging station, regardless of the setting in Settings → Auto-start after charging in the My aibo app.
  • aibo will start moving when you wake aibo by briefly pressing the power button once.
• The aibo's status LED lights up green when the battery is charged to 95% or more.
• Even if the My aibo app shows that charging is complete, the battery may require additional time to be fully charged.
• The room is dark so aibo perceives the darkness as night.
  • Turn on a light to brighten the room.
• The light sensor on aibo, located at the base of its tail is dirty or covered. This may make it difficult for aibo to recognize brightness.
  • Make sure nothing covers the sensor.
  • Use a dust blower or a soft cotton swab to clean off any dirt or fingerprints.
