If aibo cannot connect to a Wi-Fi network, check the following items in order. These steps can help identify and resolve common Wi-Fi connection issues.
1. Check the Wi‑Fi router settings
- Make sure the Wi‑Fi router or access point is powered on.
- Make sure the Wi‑Fi router firmware is up to date.
- Check that SSID stealth mode is disabled.
Note: If SSID stealth mode is enabled, the network name (SSID) will not appear on the network selection screen. - Make sure you haven't exceeded the maximum number of devices connected to the Wi‑Fi router.
- Check whether your Internet service provider's security or filtering settings are blocking the connection.
2. Check the Wi‑Fi connection environment
- Move aibo closer to the Wi-Fi router and check whether the issue is resolved.
- Check for signal interference from devices such as microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, or similar equipment.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi router supports the 2.4 GHz band (802.11b/g/n).
Notes:- aibo does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- WPA2-PSK is the recommended Wi-Fi security setting
3. Check the Wi‑Fi settings
- Make sure you select the correct SSID (network name).
- Make sure you enter the Wi-Fi password correctly.
Notes:- Passwords are case-sensitive.
- Please enter the password using half-width characters
4. If the issue still occurs
- Restart aibo.
- Restart the Wi‑Fi router.
- Delete the Wi‑Fi settings and set them up again.
If you delete the Wi-Fi settings, aibo switches to a cellular (LTE) connection. After confirming that you can connect to aibo through the My aibo app using LTE, set up the Wi‑Fi connection again.
