There is no sound or the sound from the Rear speaker is too low

Follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue:

Note: The Rear speaker plays surround sound as part of the multi-channel sound or processed from the 2-channel sound. However, because of the characteristics of the rear speaker, the sound may be low depending on the playback source.

    1. On the Soundbar remote control, press the REAR (rear speaker volume) + button to turn up the volume.
Note: This button works only when the optional rear speaker is connected to the Soundbar.
    2. If Night mode is set to ON, set it to OFF.
Note: For details regarding Night mode, refer to the product manual.
    3. Make sure the Sound Field Optimization is complete. You can start the optimization on HomeSetupAdvanced SettingsSpeaker SettingsSound Field Optimization, and follow the on-screen instructions. For details, refer to the Help Guide. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
    4. Play the Test Tone or sample music:
      • Use the Test Tone function:
        1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
        2. Select Setup.
        3. Select Advanced Settings.
        4. Select Speaker Settings.
        5. Select Manual Speaker Settings.
        6. Select Test Tone, and then select On.
Note: Select Off to end playing the Test Tone.
      • Play the sample music following any of the steps:
        • Press and hold the input select button on the bar speaker for more than five seconds to start the playback.
        • Press and hold the MUSIC SERVICE button on the bar speaker for more than five seconds to start the playback.
Note: To stop the playback, press the same button you have used to play the sample music.
    5. Some speakers may not output sound depending on the SOUND FIELD and sound source settings combination. By pressing IMMERSIVE AE or SOUND FIELD to turn on the surround effect, the speaker system up-mixes audio signals, and sound is output from all speakers.
      • HT-A7000: On the remote control, press the IMMERSIVE AE button, and select Immersive Audio Enhancement: On.
      • HT-A5000/HT-A3000: On the remote control, press the SOUND FIELD button, and select Sound Field: Effect On or SF.ON.
      Notes:

      • Depending on the source, such as Dolby Atmos, some settings are always set to ON and can't be changed.
