The steps to open and close the memory card covers of ILCE-7, ILCE-9, and ILCE-1 cameras may differ based on the model. Please select the link of the camera you own for steps to open and close the cover and insert memory cards.
ILCE-7M3, ILCE-7RM3, ILCE-9

Push the spring-loaded release lever downward. The memory card cover will swing open.
Insert the memory card(s), noting the orientation of the card.
Close the cover until it locks into place.
Notes: Memory card types that can be inserted into the card slots:
Slot 1 (lower): Supports SD Cards (compatible with UHS-I and UHS-II). Slot 2 (upper): Supports SD cards (compatible with UHS-1) and Memory Stick PRO Duo memory cards.
ILCE-7RM4, ILCE-9M2

Firmly pull the door backward toward the user. The memory card cover will swing open.
Insert the memory card(s), noting the orientation of the card.
Close the door. Push it backward toward the lens until it locks into place.
Notes: Memory card types that can be inserted into the card slots:
Both slot 1 (upper) and slot 2 (lower) only support SD memory cards (compatible with UHS-II). These cameras do not support Memory Stick media.
ILCE-7M4, ILCE-7SM3, ILCE-1

Slide the release lever (spring-loaded) downward. While holding the release lever in the downward position, pull the door backward (toward the user), and the memory card cover will swing open.
Note: If the release lever is not held in the downward position, the cover cannot be pulled backward.
Insert the memory card(s), noting the orientation of the card.
Close the door. Push it backward toward the lens until it locks into place.
Notes: Memory card types that can be inserted into the card slots:
Slot 1 (upper) supports both CFexpress Type A and SD memory cards. Slot 2 (lower) supports SD memory cards only. Insert the CFexpress Type A memory card with the label facing the LCD monitor, and the SD memory card with the terminal facing the monitor. These cameras do not support Memory Stick media.
