I brought this 2 weeks ago and its truly the best spent money. Im a big film watcher the oled hd quality is amazing even on the fast paced action films no pixelating and great colour. The inbuilt sound is like being at the cinema better than a surround sound system then you have the bonus of Sony Bravia and 5 credits to redeem against some of the latest films gives you a chance to really see the quality of the tv

I paid 1500 hundred for a tv it broke after around 4 years i worked every hours so it was never used much at all i broke my leg and had to cancel insurance but witch was my fault cancel in insurance but for a tv at that price breaking after not being used much is rubbish I would not buy another sony tv

I absolutely would recommend the 2021 Sony Bravia A80J XR OLED 4K Ultra HD TV to a friend!! I had originally purchased the 55" model from Sony.com.au via their ebay.com.au store. It not only is built well, from it's tv stand/legs to the panel/screen itself etc. it is also an exceptionally great tv as far as picture/sound quality, having very wide viewing angles with a beautiful, sharp and deep picture detail, with great, deep blacks for further picture pop and the home theatre quality, powerful sound speakers has to be mentioned!! Just a big wow, amazing tv. I have owned a number of previous Sony tv's, including led/lcd's and this is by far the very, very best television I have ever owned before, hands down, by Sony and or any other brand of company I've ever owned for that matter. The inputs/features are really good too i.e. including the 2.1 hdmi at 120 hz. When I moved to the USA from Australia permanently, I regretfully had to leave this tv behind and am still incredibly upset and very sad that I needed too. I cannot state anymore as to how much of a phenomenal tv set this just is, in a word, a perfect 10/10 outstanding experience all round whether it's gaming with a Sony PS5 console or viewing any programming, be it any shows/movies, Netflix or YouTube etc. etc. the 4K quality will surprise and entice you!! This is without a doubt a high end quality product all in all and all round. Well done Sony!! It does not ever disappoint, it rather only just continues to excel and entertain.

I believe in the craftsmanship of the people of Japan! My son wears Mizuno Kangaroo cleats, we have owned 5 Lexus automobiles and PlayStations, numerous TV’s and electronics. This TV lasted 3 years before the panel failed. The crazy part is we seldomly used this TV as our main floor is where we watch 75% of our shows. We used this TV 7 times per month after drilling down! 7 x 36 =252 uses! 252 divided by 5k is $22 every time I used it! Crazzzzzy!

I bought it two and a half years ago, watches it maybe twice a week. And there are dozens of lines on the screen. After communicating with the support service, it may be the problem of the hardware. I started to use Sony TV and home theatre more than 20 years ago. Its quality used to be excellent, so I didn't buy warranty extension. But it seems that it's not as good as it was. I think I won't buy it again

At 17 months old I had to have the main pcb replaced at £300! Not covered by warranty. I then had the same problem 6 months later to be told that the work (carried out by Sony recommended repair centre) was only guaranteed for 3 months!!! Not at all happy but strangely it appears to have righted itself but am really just waiting for it to go again. Will never buy Sony again as I have never had this sort of problem before in much cheaper tvs!! Very disappointed in Sonys response to be honest

I have bought this product, like 2 years ago. And since then, I'm amazed with screen quality. Meanwhile I have always had the best of the best TV's from samsung and lg. All my other tv's are 85 inches and flagships, and this one was planned to go to my small other apartment on a mountain. It was so good, that I had to put it in my main flat where I live... I will surely buy new sony oled in the future. I am also amazed with picture core streaming servise, but I would really like from out to make it available to other tv's... Tv could just be a bit brighter and that's it... Thank you

I am writing to formally file a complaint against Sony Electronics for deceptive and unfair business practices in violation of Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. I am a U.S. Navy veteran, and I purchased a Sony TV (model #XR77A80J) from an authorized retailer, Best Buy, for over $3,000. After only two years of use, and with no apparent damage or external reason, the TV stopped turning on, rendering it completely useless. Upon researching this issue, I discovered numerous online customer reviews indicating that this particular model has widespread defects, with many consumers experiencing the same issue. Despite the clear pattern of failure, Sony has refused to honor their responsibility under both Florida consumer laws and federal warranty regulations. On November 21, 2024, I called Sony customer support at 1:30 PM EST and spoke to four different departments, including technical support and customer relations, in an attempt to resolve this issue. Despite my clear explanation of the defect, Sony refused to repair or replace the TV. The final representative I spoke to in the customer relations department, named April, at 2:30 PM EST, not only failed to escalate my call to her supervisor, Wanda, but also told me that she could not assist further. This lack of accountability is deeply troubling, especially since Sony is aware of the widespread issues with this TV model and has failed to take any action to address them. As a consumer who paid a premium price for what I believed to be a high-quality product, I am being denied basic rights to repair or replacement under the law. As a veteran and a consumer, I feel that I am being taken advantage of by a multinational corporation that has shown clear disregard for consumer rights and Florida's consumer protection laws. This kind of behavior reflects a deceptive pattern of unfair business practices, and I request that the FTC investigate Sony Electronics for these violations and ensure that they are held accountable. Given the scope of this issue, I also intend to escalate this case to news media outlets to shed light on how Sony’s practices are affecting consumers nationwide, especially veterans like myself. I demand that Sony either repair or replace my defective TV with a model of equal or greater value, and I expect the FTC to take immediate action to prevent further exploitation of consumers in Florida and beyond. Please find attached the details of my purchase, customer service interactions, and a list of online consumer reviews verifying the widespread issue with this product. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response.

The Android OS is clunky, it doesn’t turn off automatically even when you set it too, and the connection to my smart speaker just doesn’t work, also I get a popping sound from the speaker when browsing menus, Sony TVs are not great I would say they have dropped in rank to a Sanyo TVs of old, also the manufacturer of the screen very poor, my screen was warped apparently this is normal on OLED as they have a thin bezel…. I will go back to LG

Bought a Bravia XR-77A80J in July 2021 and in Oct 2024 the set does not power up. I contacted Sony support and followed their instructions to try and factory reset the set to no avail. Finally Sony support asked me to contact a local service agent for out of warranty repair. Absolutely appaling that my 20 year old Samsung TVs still work and the $4000 Sony is dead. The TV was plugged into an expensive surge protector and all other devices plugged into that are working fine. Do not buy Sony TVs

Generally fairly happy with the tv but when some apps such as 'youtube' are returned to after a standby they show areas of the screen with extreme black/red/yellow/blue. Picture attached. Strangely when this is happening netflix and disney+ are not affected by several others I use are!

I bought this TV 18 months ago, and have waited this long to leave a review because in my opinion a review after 1 or 2 weeks is not long enough to establish if there are going to be any durability or quality issues. Well I am happy to report that the TV is as amazingly good today as it was when new. The picture and sound are excellent. In fact the only issue I have had was when ITV-X took over the subscription service from Brit-box; the App did not carry over my subscription and I had to do a factory reset of the TV to force the ITV-X to relaod correctly.

Had the set of over 2 years now and it performs well on all modes ( sports- live etc.) found a couple of the set up features annoying as the set is fed through a recorder and decides to shut down thinking there is no signal after 2 hours which needs a prompt from the Sony remote to "re-activate" the set . Cannot fault the picture or the superb sound from such a thin TV . A good purchase

First the picture is excellent. To get the audio to work with my Sonos system it took a couple days to figure out. HDMI connections must be connected before sound bar and TV are powered up or TV will not operate sound bar. I stream everything and TV needed me to delete HULU after two weeks of use as it would not launch the app. After reinstalling the HULU app it is now operating correctly. Also there is no way to eliminate the annoying beep when changing TV source. While these are annoying if I was not familiar with electronics it would be a deal breaker for most. My former LG did not have these issues but LG chose not to update their operating system which was poor on their part. These.challenges are not what most could deal with.

Generally good TV but I would say it lacked some apps. The Apps that it came with lacked features example ITVX did not have live broadcast. I have 2 4K Sonys and 2 4K LG G3's. LG ssem to give you more. To get the live broadcast you need to get a Fire Stick.

Bought in Oct 22 and quickly started having problems with the EPG for sat and anntenna TV signals. TV very slow to boot up and the EPG was even slower to load and update when switching pages. Considered sending the set back but persevered after several 'Reset to Factory Settings' made some improvements but they were only temporary. Generally the picture quality is good but the EPG has grown increasingly lumpy. The past two months the set has started changing TV channel on it's own, sometimes repeatedly, requiring the set to be turned off at the wall to correct. Then it started turning off for no reason and most times would come back on again for a minute or two before going off again, often multiple times before we gave up and performed the built in software reset. The set was unusable for long periods when we would want to watch it and recently we performed another Back to Factory Default Settings which of course dumps all of the favourite lists, passwords for streaming services etc. The past four days the TV has worked reasonably OK but the EPG is starting to run slowly again. Also during the probems the TV would not always recognise that it was connected to a soundbar via the eArc function and after around 12 months it stopped working with the hard disc via the USB3 connection to record or play videos. The worst software I have experienced on a TV. I will probably see about returning it under the extended warranty and see if that helps in which case I will update my review. Meanwhile I've just bought another set from another manufacturer!

We,ve had the telly for a couple of month now & its ok. We have tried, in vain, to sort out the glare but it is really bad watching any movies/tv that are filmed in the night, lights, the sun etc make sure that you do not see much, we,ve tried the help, every hue, brilliance etc setting but no real joy, so the lights have to go out & blinds closed if we watch progs etc that are filmed at night!
