Can't Open the Tray or Eject the Disc From the DVD Player

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Make sure the child lock feature is disabled.
  2. Try to open the disc tray.
  3. If the issue still occurs, power off your DVD player.
  4. Unplug the power cord for 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
  5. Power on your device.
  6. Try to open the disc tray.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

If the issue still occurs, try one of the steps below. These steps may not apply to all products. The buttons on your DVD player may vary. Check the product manual for model-specific information. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

  • Press the POWER, STOP and EJECT buttons simultaneously.
  • Press the DISC1, STOP and EJECT buttons simultaneously.


  • If you have RDR-GX330 DVD recorder, perform the easy setup  to resolve this issue.
  • If the issue still occurs after completing all of the troubleshooting steps above, repair may be required.
