Add or remove a Google account to my TV

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

This information is provided to help with adding a Google ™ account to your Android TV™ or Google TV™ model.

Before you start

• Make sure your TV is connected to the internet; if needed, information is available to help connect your TV to the internet.
• Use a Google account that has a registered email address and password. If you don't have one, create a Google account.
  Notes:

  • More than one Google account can be registered on TV models with Android 7.0™ Nougat OS or newer.
  • Only one Google account at a time is allowed on TV models with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system (OS) or older. If you want to log into a different Google account, remove the existing account and add the new one.

Add a Google Account

The steps vary depending on the OS version of your TV. Follow the steps accordingly. If you need model-specific information, check your TV manuals .

Android 7.0 and newer

You can remove your account by selecting the Google Account icon displayed. Alternatively, depending on the model, you can sync your account or apps, etc.

1. Access the Settings screen.
   • Use the Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later):
     • On the remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button and select Settings.
   • Use the HOME button:
     • On the remote control, press the HOME button and select Settings.
2. The following steps vary depending on the menu of your TV:
   • Select Accounts & Sign In → Add account → Sign in.
   • Select Accounts & Sign In → Add another account → Google.
   • Select Accounts & Sign in → Add Account → Sign in or Google.
   • Select Add account.
3. Enter your email address and select NEXT.
   • Use the arrow buttons on your remote to navigate the on-screen keyboard and then press the center button to select.
     
4. Enter your password and select NEXT.
   • If you've successfully logged in, the email address you used will appear next to the Google icon.

     

5. After you successfully log in, the Google Account icon and the email address used to log in will be displayed.
   

Android 6.0 or earlier

To register a different account, delete the registration information for your current account, and then add a different account.

1. Delete the registration information for your current account.
   1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
   2. Select Settings.
   3. Select Google in the Personal category.
   4. Select Remove account.
   5. Select OK.
2. Register a different Google account.
   1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
   2. Select Settings.
   3. Select Add account in the Personal category.
   4. Select SIGN IN.
