IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

The Adaptive Sound Control on the Headphones Connect app may automatically turn on, and enable the Ambient Sound Control setting after the software update. Because of this, the effects of noise canceling may be weak. Follow the steps below to adjust Noise Canceling on the Headphones Connect app or check this Help guide for more details:

    1. Connect your wireless headphones to a mobile device through a Bluetooth® connection.
    2. Launch the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
    3. Set Adaptive Sound Control to Off.
    4. Set Ambient Sound Control to On.
    5. In Ambient Sound Control, tap Dropdown Menu Button(down arrow) and set the Noise Canceling.

Note: Adaptive Sound Control is a function that can detect four patterns of behavior (Staying, Walking, Running, and Transport) using the acceleration sensor of your smartphone and automatically switch between Noise Canceling and Ambient Sound Control modes based on the setting for each behavior pattern.
