Reset MFi pairing for the CRE-E10 OTC hearing aids with your iPhone

It may be necessary to remove the pairing between the MFi hearing aid and your Apple® iPhone® mobile digital device and re-pair the devices. You may need to do this due to iOS® software updates, new hearing devices, or even Bluetooth® streaming/connectivity issues (i.e., only pairing or streaming to one device).

Before you delete the MFi Pairing from the iPhone, try these general troubleshooting steps first:

    • Toggle off/on Bluetooth for about 10-15 seconds
    • Power off the phone for 20 seconds and then power it back on
    • Restart the phone
    • Turn off Bluetooth on other Bluetooth-enabled devices nearby,

If the issue still occurs, delete the MFi Pairing and then re-pair the devices.

Step 1: Delete the MFi Pairing from the iPhone

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Tap Accessibility.
    3. Tap Hearing Devices.
    4. Tap on the MFi hearing devices that appear.
    5. Scroll down and then tap Forget this device.
    6. Tap Forget.

Note: The phone will begin to search for hearing aids.

Step 2: Re-pair the MFi hearing aids with the iPhone

You will need to reboot (restart) the Hearing aids to put them into pairing mode. Placing the devices in the charger for several seconds and then removing them will put them into pairing mode. After rebooting, place hearing aids close to iPhone. The hearing aids will stay in pairing mode for approximately three minutes.

    1. Under AccessibilityHearing Devices, the detected hearing aids will appear.
Note: Devices usually appear as User first name hearing aids (R+L).
    2. Tap on the hearing aids that appear
    3. At the Bluetooth Pairing Request window, tap Pair.
    4. The Bluetooth Pairing Request window will appear again, tap Pair.
    5. Once the pairing is complete, the right (R) and left (L) hearing aids and battery status will appear.
