Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (SEMC) is a 50/50 joint venture of Sony Corporation and Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson established in October 2001, with global corporate functions located in London and operations in major markets around the world. On October 28, Sony Corporation announced its purchase of Ericsson’s share of Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony.
