Message from Howard Stringer, Sony Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Regarding Sony Disaster Relief Efforts for Those Affected by Hurricane Katrina

The devastation and human suffering caused by Hurricane Katrina is almost incomprehensible. It reminds us once again of our human frailty, and also our strength and resilience when we band together in times like these. In that regard, Sony Corporation will add its own contribution to the relief efforts underway to assist all of those who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

On behalf of Sony Corporation worldwide, Sony Corporation of America and its U.S. operating companies will make an immediate cash contribution totaling $500,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund/Hurricane Katrina. In addition, we will also run a U.S. company matching gift program through Friday, September 30, 2005. The cap for this entire contribution initiative will be one million dollars.

This terrible tragedy will surely become a national shared experience, and it is our responsibility to respond with generosity.
