The error Out of Scan Range may appear if the computer video card is set for a refresh rate the display does not support. Follow this procedure to resolve the error.
IMPORTANT: It is also possible that you are attempting to use a display setting that the installed computer video card does not support. Refer to the computer or video card documentation to determine what resolution setting are possible, and how to adjust those setting if necessary. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
NOTE: Refer to the display documentation for the proper horizontal and vertical synchronization specifications.
- Turn off the computer.
- Disconnect the display from the computer.
- Connect a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitor or the old display to the computer.
- Download and install all available software and driver updates for your computer from the Sony Support website.

NOTE: Follow the installation instructions provided for each update you download.
Shut the computer down.
- Disconnect the temporary monitor from the computer.
- Reconnect the display.
