The screen brightness changes for the following reasons:

  • The Light sensor is On

If you notice that the Light sensor located at the bottom center part of the screen is on, the brightness of the TV screen changes to match the ambient lighting. Follow the steps below to access the Light sensor settings:

    1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
    2. Select Settings Icon Settings.
    3. Select Display & Sound or Display.
    4. Select Picture.
    5. Select Light sensor.
  • Your TV displays an image causing image retention to occur easily.

If your TV displays an image that may cause image retention to occur easily, the screen brightness gradually reduces in order to protect the TV from image retention. The brightness returns to normal if you change the screen or perform another action that eliminates the risks of image retention.

    • This function activates frequently because the HOME screen and the apps top screen contain bright still images.

If the brightness change is inconvenient, lower the Peak Luminance setting to reduce the brightness change.

  1. Press the HOME button.
  2. Select Settings Icon Settings.
  3. Select Display & Sound or Display.
  4. Select Picture.
  5. Select Advanced settings.
  6. Select Brightness.
  7. Select Peak Luminance and set it to Medium or Low.
