The Mic button or the Voice Search function on the remote control doesn't work

To resolve this issue, unpair the remote control and then pair it again.

Before you start

  • If you replace your remote control for any reason, you need to pair your new remote to your TV to activate the Voice Search functionality.
  • You might need to pair the remote control again after a software update on an Android TV™.
  • There are two types of remote controls that support Voice Search, the Touchpad remote control and the Infrared (IR) remote control. These remote controls have a microphone mark or button.

Steps to unpair and pair the remote

  1. Unpair the remote control from the TV.
    1. On the supplied IR remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Under Network & Accessories category, select Bluetooth settings.
    4. Select Device list.
    5. Select SONY TV REMOTE 001 or SONY TV RC MIC 001.
    6. Select Unpair.
    7. Select OK.
  2. Pair the remote control to the TV.
    1. Press the HOME button.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Under Network & Accessories category, select Touchpad Remote Control settings or Voice Remote Control.
    4. Select Pair Touchpad Remote Control or Activate Mic Button button.
    5. Select Yes.
      • If this selection isn't available, move on the the next step.
    6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
