Tokyo, Japan - Sony Corporation today announced candidates for the executives who will be responsible for the management of the Sony Group in FY2018. Following approvals from the appropriate governing committees, the candidates are scheduled to officially take up their positions after Sony's Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, due to be held on June 19, 2018.

Having completed the process of splitting out each of its key businesses, Sony will now transition to a new executive structure, intended to clearly define responsibility for overall Group management, and responsibility for each individual business. Specifically, the titles of Sony Corporation executives will be changed, and the role of Corporate Executive Officer will be limited to the CEO, who has overall management responsibility for the entire Sony Group, and those executives who support CEO and are responsible for important and extensive headquarters functions (Executive Vice President and above).
