Sony Group Corporation ("Sony") today announced its sponsorship of the Sony Championship Hawaii, a new tournament starting in 2027.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from Monday, January 11 through Saturday, January 16, 2027 at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii, as a PGA TOUR Champions event. The Sony Open in Hawaii, which Sony has sponsored since 1999, will transition to the Sony Championship Hawaii beginning in 2027.
Over the past 28 years, Sony's sponsorship of the Sony Open in Hawaii has generated more than $27 million for local nonprofit organizations serving vulnerable working families, the elderly, and under-resourced children across Hawaii.
Through its sponsorship of the Sony Championship Hawaii, Sony will continue to support local communities in Hawaii while contributing to the further development of sports and creating new Kando (emotion) experiences.
