Tokyo, Japan — Sony Group Corporation ("Sony") today announced the launch of the Sony Onchain Entertainment Incubation Program, a global incubation program for startups and creators, beginning October 29, 2026. Through the program, Sony aims to foster the growth of "onchain entertainment" which leverages blockchain technology to enable more direct connections between creators and fans, as well as new forms of value creation and community building.

Recent advances in blockchain technology are opening new possibilities not only for the ownership and use of content and digital assets, but also for how creators engage with fans and build communities. As a company with diverse entertainment businesses, Sony is working to create next-generation entertainment experiences by leveraging these technologies.

The program will invite creators from around the world that use Soneium, a blockchain, to create new entertainment experiences and business models by bringing together content, communities and digital assets. These may include initiatives that build new relationships between creators and fans, deliver new forms of value through community participation, or explore new revenue opportunities leveraging digital content, among other efforts to explore the potential of onchain technology in entertainment.

Selected projects will receive support toward commercialization, including access to Soneium's technology infrastructure, opportunities for co-creation with Sony Group companies, business development and marketing support, opportunities for community engagement, and access to fundraising opportunities. Through these forms of support, the program aims to help projects move beyond technical validation toward services and experiences that deliver tangible value to users.

Since 2024, Sony has been advancing initiatives in the onchain space centered on Soneium. Through two previous incubation programs, Sony has selected and supported a total of 43 projects from around the world.

Building on the knowledge and networks developed through these initiatives, the new program will focus specifically on onchain entertainment. Through co-creation with creators, startups and communities, Sony aims to foster new entertainment experiences in which people can discover and engage with content, support creators and communities, and share in the value they help create.

Sony Group will continue to explore the possibilities enabled by onchain technology and, through co-creation with innovators around the world, contribute to the future of entertainment by creating value for both creators and fans.
