Sony EMCS Malaysia PG Tec hosted a 3-day workshop during Japanese Technology and Culture Weekend, which was held at Tech Dome Penang, Malaysia in October 2019. Sony EMCS Malaysia PG Tec aims to encourage participating children to be creative, combining innovative thinking with MESH alongside materials available to create something new. The workshops saw over 20 volunteers guiding a total of 60 students unleashing their creativity and exploring the world of IoT.
This event is the 3rd edition to showcase the technologies of Japanese companies contributing to the local economy and communities and organized in collaboration with the Penang States government and the Consulate General of Japan in Penang.
About 1,000 primary and secondary school students were invited from Northern region of Malaysia to enliven the event.
In these 3 days event, the total 57 employees from Sony EMCS Malaysia supported Sony Science Program MESH workshop and also the educational exhibition with Sony audio products.
Each day 10 volunteers hosted MESH workshop "Everything around you will change?! Let's create things that you wish existed!". Conducting 3 sessions, over 20 volunteers encouraged a total of 60 students to create something new. The workshop unleashed their creativity and exploring the world of IoT.

Education is one of the most powerful tool for sustainable development. In product exhibition, a group of hearing impairment students discovered and enjoyed music through a half-cut speaker showing sound is vibration. Sony EMCS Malaysia Penang always utilize Sony products and provide quality and inclusive education to contribute achieving SDGs.
