Penang International Science Fair (PISF) is an annual event featured exhibitions from electronics and technology companies in Malaysia, hands-on STEM workshops organized by schools and companies, competitions in robotics, coding, embedded systems and agricultural technology, and MakerFest where science enthusiasts showcase their idea creations. This is one of the largest event in Penang state visiting by about 60,000 public.
The event is co-organized by the Penang State government and Penang Science Cluster, STEM education NGO, aimed at inspiring interest and innovation in science and technology among upper primary and secondary school students.
This year, PISF was held on 2 & 3 November 2019. Sony EMCS Malaysia, audio manufacturing plant in Penang organized a hands-on workshop for a total of 500 upper primary school students to learn and experience the basic process of making a speaker by creating their own mini sound box. 67 employees participated to this event.

In the exhibition corner, engineers introduced the light and sound using speaker and headphone. Children enjoyed learning through RGB color effect and lens reflection game. Adults were also impressed to experience Sony's premium noise cancelling headphone and learn the mechanism explained by engineers.
